Thomas Bruns. LAND. Berlin 2000?2021
Photographer Thomas Bruns has been documenting the rapid changes in Berlin's cityscape for several years in his series on Modernism and the work he began in 2009 on Heide Straße and Lehrter Straße. In his photographic series, Thomas Bruns documents changes and obvious displacement and distribution struggles for public space and preserves them for the future.0In contrast to classical architectural photographers and commissioned photography, "too much" appears on it; construction machinery, fences, tarpaulins and demolition, for example, not a "perfect" architectural photograph. The whole misery of the building boom in the inner cities and the simultaneous neglect of existing buildings is revealed here. This unsparing view connects Thomas Bruns with Michael Schmidt and his work complex "Berlin after 45". (Maik Schlüter).
