I was raised by a loving family, with four older siblings and Doc and Esther as parents and role models. I was educated by the Jesuits, groomed by the Marine Corps, and blessed with JC, my life's treasure in a growing marriage of over fifty years, and four talented and caring children. Poetraits & Thought
Poetraits & Thought is a poetic display of beauty in various forms. Poetraits are visual verse renderings similar to those presented in Artistry in Word Music (2014) and Inside the Muse (2017). Thought refers to narratives on the present, speculation on the future, and the seemingly impossible. The four parts of the book are prefaced by Experience the Poem. The first part offers word paintings on cultural perspectives, octogenarian consciousness, and beauty in the open. The second part entitled Thought deals with collaboration for innovation, collaborative competitiveness, and fantasy: the quantum frontier. Inside the Muse
Inside the Muse is a collection of multimedia poetry that visualizes what the mind sees, the heart feels, and imagination creates. It is a collage of verse and companion visuals sharing observations and concerns of an octogenarian who invites the readerviewer to go on a virtual tour of Poetraitures hanging on the hooks of the mind Inside the Muse. The tour begins with a display of Muse Murals, followed by clips of Natures beauty in the Open and glances at daily life. Next is a montage of cultural impressions and expressions ending with a plea for a greater awareness of the looming environmental threat called the Anthropocene. It continues with cameos on our quest for knowledge and fondness for fantasy and nostalgia. The muse walk concludes with an exploration of the Mindsphere and the Planet of the Mind with a comment on consciousness and the possibility of a cosmic connection.
