Architectural Graphics
This book reports on several advances in architectural graphics, with a special emphasis on education, training and research. It gathers a selection of contributions to the 19th International Conference on Graphic Design in Architecture, EGA 2022, held on June 2–4, 2022, in Cartagena, Spain, with the motto: "Beyond drawings. The use of architectural graphics".
Materiales de Urbanismo 2017.19 (vol. 05)
Como en las publicaciones anteriores de la serie bienal Materiales de Urbanismo, este quinto volumen (MU5), correspondiente a diversas actividades docentes y otras asociadas dentro del área de Urbanística y Ordenación del Territorio durante los cursos 2017-18 y 2018-19, incluye ‘materiales’ de naturaleza diversa. Porque, en el fondo, el mensaje principal es que el Urbanismo se aprende analizando y proyectando, reflexionando sobre planes y proyectos urbanos, interviniendo sobre fragmentos de ciudades europeas, reordenando núcleos urbanos menores, renaturalizando y reciclando territorios de distinta naturaleza, reinventando el plan con propuestas de regeneración urbana para barrios y sectores urbanos próximos...; también conversando con los autores de diversas aproximaciones teóricas o los que han participado en ese gran conjunto de experiencias que están en la base de la construcción de la ciudad y el territorio.
Actas de los XVIII Cursos Monográficos sobre el Patrimonio Histórico
Cuatro grandes áreas delimitan el estudio de estos cursos: El patrimonio del paisaje epigráfico en la ciudad romana, Aplicaciones de los sistemas integrados de información geográfica al patrimonio arqueológico, La policía y los delitos contra el patrimonio histórico, y Áreas de rehabilitación integral. Su impacto en la recuperación económica y social de los centros históricos. En todos ellos se aportan novedosos puntos de vista sobre el patrimonio histórico y se afrontan diversos temas referentes a la práctica de nuevas herramientas para su estudio.
Architectural Draughtsmanship
This is the proceedings of the XVI International Congress of Graphic Design in Architecture, EGA 2016, held in Alcalá de Henares, Spain, in June 2016. About 200 professionals and researchers from 18 different countries attended the Congress. This book will be of interest to researchers in the field of architecture and Engineering. The ‘New Normal’ in Planning, Governance and Participation
This book offers a unique and timely contribution, informed by responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, to unpack the intertwined challenges that planning needs to cope with in the future. It argues that the pandemic and post-pandemic periods, in their successive waves of restrictions and social distancing, have disrupted ‘normal’ practices but have also contributed to shaping a ‘new normal’. The new normal is emerging, re-configuring, and prioritizing the substantive objects of planning and its governance and participatory processes. This book discusses this shift and presents a collection of episodes and cases from diverse European urban contexts to develop a new vocabulary for describing and addressing challenges, models, perspectives, and imaginaries that contribute to defining the new normal. The book is aimed at scholars interested in urban planning, sociology, geography, anthropology, art, economy, technology studies, design studies, and political science.
Música de Chiloé
The islands of Chiloé, in southern Chile, have developed a distinct culture over several centuries, blending indigenous traditions and Spanish settler heritage to create a vibrant pattern of folklore, music, dance, and related creative practices. This cultural heritage has become an important aspect of the islands’ identity and is key to their successful marketing as a tourist destination. However, these elements exist in tension with new developments, most particularly the introduction of salmon aquaculture, which has disrupted traditional livelihood patterns and polluted the region’s marine environment. This volume analyzes the development of the islands’ distinct culture with a particular focus on music and dance. Key topics include the relation of tradition and modernity, the impact of tourism on cultural practice, and the relationship between social activism and music culture. The authors complement this focus with a discussion of their own creative engagements with the region through the production of the music album Viaje a Chiloé (2018) and through the work of the audiovisual ensemble The Moviolas (in 2015–2018).
Terminología y modelos culturales
En este volumen, que incluye las intervenciones de los profesores Jean-Claude Corbeil, Marcelo Diki-Kidiri y Luis Fernando Lara en el seminario de terminología de la I Escuela de Verano de Terminología organizada por el Instituto Universitario de Lingüística Aplicada de la Universidad Pompeu Fabra, se habla claramente de las falacias e inconsistencias de la uniformización, que se presenta como un estadio natural de comportamiento, ya que ni la visión del mundo, ni siquiera la del mundo especializado, no es uniforme, ni las situaciones sociopolíticas en las que se desarrolla el trabajo terminológico no son idénticas. Esta diversidad supone pues que deben adaptarse las actuaciones terminológicas a las circunstancias propias de cada contexto, así como también seleccionar para la terminología la concepción teórica más adecuada a las actuaciones. \ N
