I began to write poetry and short stories to express the unspeakable pain of losing a child when my son, a multi-talented dynamic young man, had endured several cruel twists of fate which forced him to return home to live with me. These were to be the final five years of his life, which ended one month after his diagnosis of leukemia. There was a certain release in my struggle to find the best words to put down. Some people have told me that my writings have helped them deal with the hurts in their life, and to sympathize with mine. I am humble and complimented to hear this.

From Ziefen to Sally Run
Family history and genealogical information about the descendants of Jacob Repass (or Rippas) who was born ca. 1737 in Ziefen, Switzerland. He was a descendant of Daniel Repass (born ca. 1613 in Switzerland) and Anna Tanner. Jacob married Anna Gerber ca. 1759. They immigrated to America and landed in Philadelphia 10 October 1768. Jacob and Anna lived in Virginia and were the parents of eight children. Descendants lived in Virginia, Illinois, Indiana, Texas, California and elsewhere.
Family History
August Behling, parents unknown, was born 21/23 May 1823 in Petershagen, Hinterpommem, Germany. He married Caroline Lubenow about 1861 in Germany. They immigrated to America in 1866. They had 6-8 children. August died 14 Sep 1913 in Great Bend, North Dakota. Caroline died 22 Aug 1916, also in Great Bend. Their descendants have lived in North Dakota, Montana, California, Oregon, and other areas in the United States.

Das Forschungsinteresse an der Gattung Fastnachtspiel ist in den letzten Jahren deutlich gewachsen. Die Komplexität des Phänomens erfordert literatur- und theaterwissenschaftliche sowie kultur- und sozialhistorische Herangehensweisen. Der Band dokumentiert die Beiträge einer internationalen Tagung zum spätmittelalterlichen Fastnachtspiel (Blaubeuren 2007). Germanisten, Romanisten, Niederlandisten sowie Theater- und Kulturhistoriker behandeln Fastnachtspiele unter folgenden Gesichtspunkten: Spielthemen und Stadtpolitik, Performanz und Rezeption, Beziehungen zum geistlichen Schauspiel, zu literarischen und brauchtümlichen Traditionen, ferner Überlieferung, Edition und Kommentierung sowie komparatistische Aspekte. Der Schwerpunkt der hier versammelten Aufsätze liegt auf den Spielen der Nürnberger Tradition; es werden jedoch auch andere Spielgegenden wie der niederdeutsche Sprachbereich, die Schweiz und Tirol sowie vergleichbare Erscheinungsformen aus Frankreich und den Niederlanden behandelt.
