Joint Fires and Targeting Handbook
The fires function and targeting process continues to mature at an accelerated pace as joint, coalition, and supporting forces remain engaged in on-going, high-tempo operations. These continuing operations reinforce the need for knowledgeable and efficient planners, targeteers, and weaponeers. Emerging technologies and joint warfighter experiences combine to turn lessons learned into improved and new joint fires and targeting planning, execution, and assessment best practices. Many of these innovative procedures are recognized by the joint community, but they are not yet approved joint doctrine.
