International Russian Conference on Materials Science and Metallurgical Technology (RusMetalCon 2019) Selected, peer reviewed papers from the International Russian Conference on Materials Science and Metallurgical Technology (RusMetalCon-2019), October 1-4, 2019, Chelyabinsk, Russian Federation
Metric and Differential Geometry grew out of a similarly named conference held at Chern Institute of Mathematics, Tianjin and Capital Normal University, Beijing. The various contributions to this volume cover a broad range of topics in metric and differential geometry, including metric spaces, Ricci flow, Einstein manifolds, Kähler geometry, index theory, hypoelliptic Laplacian and analytic torsion. It offers the most recent advances as well as surveys the new developments. Contributors: M.T. Anderson J.-M. Bismut X. Chen X. Dai R. Harvey P. Koskela B. Lawson X. Ma R. Melrose W. Müller A. This book presents the original proof of Gromov's compactness theorem for pseudo-holomorphic curves in detail. Local properties of pseudo-holomorphic curves are investigated and proved from a geometric viewpoint. Properties of particular interest are isoperimetric inequalities, a monotonicity formula, gradient bounds and the removal of singularities.
The book reviews new research in the area of deformation mechanisms of structural steels and the possibilities to control the process of strain hardening. Topics covered include: The bainite, martensite and pearlite structure of these steels; the strengthening mechanisms of quenched steel; the evolution of phase composition and defect sub-structure of bainitic steel under deformation; the hardening mechanisms of bainitic steels; and the strain hardening of structural steels with pearlite structure. Keywords: Structural Steels, Strain Hardening, Uniaxial Compression, Martensite Structure, Pearlite Structure, Bainite Structure, Plasticity, Fracture Toughness, Tribological Properties, Wear Resistance, Strength Properties, Corrosion Resistant Steel, Impact Strength, Dislocation Density, Weldability.

Mirror symmetry began when theoretical physicists made some astonishing predictions about rational curves on quintic hypersurfaces in four-dimensional projective space. Understanding the mathematics behind these predictions has been a substantial challenge. This book is the first completely comprehensive monograph on mirror symmetry, covering the original observations by the physicists through the most recent progress made to date. Subjects discussed include toric varieties, Hodge theory, Kahler geometry, moduli of stable maps, Calabi-Yau manifolds, quantum cohomology, Gromov-Witten invariants, and the mirror theorem. This title features: numerous examples worked out in detail; an appendix on mathematical physics; an exposition of the algebraic theory of Gromov-Witten invariants and quantum cohomology; and, a proof of the mirror theorem for the quintic threefold.
