Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.
One letter handwritten by poet and editor Wilfrid Meynell to Margaret [Montgomery Zogbaum]. In his letter Meynell discusses the final days of his son, Everard Meynell and thanks Zogbaum for her friendship to his son.
2 ALsS. Thanks Meynell for books he has sent.
Second letter refers to Meynell's article on Thompson and its excellence.
ALS. Writes in praise of Alice Meynell's prose. "What Jeffrey said, in the Edinburgh Review, about Keats' poetry is exactly true of your wife's prose ... I am glad to see ... the few competent judges are gradually coming to confirm all that I have ever said in her praise. If I were you, I should go mad with pride and joy."
TLS. "I read the Shelley article by Francis Thompson with the greatest interest ... I am glad you were interested in my article on Oscar Wilde. The writer of the admirable article on Coventry Patmore was Mr. John Freeman."
