October 1957. Thomas Nightingale, Chief Inspector and wizarding legend, reunited with an old friend he met during the Second World War. The friend, Angus Strallen, was in pursuit of a serial killer, Professor Uwe Fischer, a Luftwaffe pilot who settled in Cumberland after the war to work in a factory. Fischer had been targeting women of different cultures which led him – and Strallen – to the cultural melting pot of London. Seemingly always one step ahead of the Metropolitan Police, Fischer kept evading capture, putting his own magical powers and good political relations to use. But as the German scientists read American comic books in his hotel room, Strallen’s partner in crime (and romance), Dr. Jacqueline Frye, acquired a very helpful package from Fischer’s home in Cumberland which was soon on its way to London: a scarf. Paired with the powerful nose of a bloodhound named Hesperus, Nightingale and Strallen’s hunt for Fischer is afoot…
When the Doctor fell out of the Sheffield sky and into the lives of Graham, Yasmin, and Ryan, they had little idea how much their worlds would change! Now the Doctor and her friends travel through space and time, righting wrongs, facing terrible danger, and witnessing magnificent wonders.
The Doctor and his travelling companion Alice Obiefune never look for trouble… but somehow it always seems to find them. Most recently, they battled their way out of a reality created to entrap them, and even successfully raised the potentially-genocidal tree creature known as the Sapling into a fully-functional, non-murderous adult, through the power of their joint example. Now it’s time for a little jaunt through time, purely as tourists. Surely nothing can go wrong…
The Vortex Butterfly’s identity has finally been unveiled… but the Doctor is distraught to discover that this entity is none other than his beloved companion, Gabby! Vortex Butterfly Gabby insists that he left her behind, in every possible timeline, and she was forced to build her own world from pieces of space and time. Meanwhile, present Gabby (staying in London with Cindy and Sarah Jane Smith) is experiencing strange things too – her powers have brought her drawings to life!
With the TARDIS coming apart, the Sapling was forced to put down roots to try and keep the faithful ship together… but, unfortunately, the TARDIS saw this as a threat, rapidly expanding and changing shape to try and escape the plant matter engulfing her. Meanwhile, due to the ship’s breach, the terrifying Scream was finally able to come aboard. Forced with no other option, the Doctor was forced to enable the Hostile Action Dispersal System, expelling everyone into space… but his plan has gong horribly wrong - the Scream absorbed the Sapling in the process… leaving Alice and the Doctor with no memories at all.
Through the nefarious actions of vulpine fay Reynard (to be considered a cunning bastard), aided by talking fox Danny Russell (forced into service after his mate and cub were kidnapped, so to be considered generally a pretty good canid acting under duress), Anna (daughter of imprisoned Russian oligarch), Abigail (trainee wizard – nay apprentice – to The Folly) and Detective Sergeant Guleed (Muslim ninja) have been kidnapped. While the principal reason would seem to be ransom by the blackmail of Anna’s parents, Abigail and Guleed are wanted for an entirely different purpose – they are about to find out what it feels like to be at the sharp end of a fox hunt…
The ceaseless struggle between Law and Chaos that has raged across all 15 planes of reality is nearing its bloody conclusion. Now Corum, the Prince in the Scarlet Robe, must unite the other incarnations, Elric and Erekose, and travel to the last five planes of Earth to defeat the Chaos Lord and King of the Sword, Mabelode the Faceless. At stake, the very forces of existence and the chance for Corum to exact revenge against Glandyth-a-Krae, the man who slaughtered his family. Adapted from Michael Moorcock’s novel by Mike Baron and Mark Shainblum and drawn by Butch Guice, Jill Thompson, Ken Hooper and Kelley Jones, this collection also features an introduction from the writer Mark Shainblum, and brings the first Corum trilogy to an end. “I would recommend Chronicles of Corum to anyone who enjoys solid adventure fantasy.” – Nerdly “Superbly adapted… exquisitely illustrated… Michael Moorcock once again weaves a stunning blend of magic, heroism, and wonder for a whole new generation of appreciative readers.” – Midwest Book Review
