The Unforgotten Spring

This book was brought into existence by Writerophelia during the early months of Spring. However, we had no clue then that the days coming ahead will leave indelible imprints on each one of us. Most of the writings compiled herein are related to the incidents or emotions revolving around those unprecedented times of the year, when we all would have gone through some or other phases that will never be forgotten by us, no matter how hard we try. Time never stays the same and what was meant to be has already happened. All we have now, are mere memories of the gone season... Indeed, a season that will forever remain UNFORGOTTEN. Buy the book now to read some exceptionally fascinating poems based on the same theme.

Thoughts occupy the mind, dreams and visions too. When those thoughts, visions and dreams are fledged, they soar higher and higher in unknown realms. Stories are born, thus opening before you realms until unknown. I have woven some such stories which would take my dear readers there. I am certain that those who have read my book Anecdotes or even Inscriptions will surely delight in this anthology too. My pleasure lies in giving my readers to consume something that will interest them and make them think. Happy reading, dear you! Extending my thanks to Writerophelia for launching my books with so much love and care, and sending best wishes to everyone.

The world is a beautiful place, thanks to the people who strive to grow and help others grow. It has been a beautiful experience to compile our second anthology. We would love to thank the ‘True Dreamster’ team for this smooth and successful journey. We express our heartiest gratitude to our brilliant writers for their support and patience. This book would not have come into existence without their cooperation. We absolutely love them.

Opheliamachine

Ophelia's story in a way you've never heard it before, and seven more ways as well. Ophelia is trapped, stuck inside the machinery that has created her consciousness, fighting to be heard. Hamlet, overwhelmed by the ceaseless flood of media, mindlessly watches TV, consuming a mish-mash of beauty and horror; a daily soup of innocence and violence. The two of them hopelessly confined, and separated by the Atlantic Ocean. A polemic response to Heiner Mueller's Hamletmachine, Opheliamachine is a postmodern tale of love, sex and politics in a fragmented world of confused emotions and global, virtual sexuality. Since its premiere in 2013, Magda Romanska's celebrated experimental play has been perf...

Playing with Languages

Over several generations villagers of Dominica have been shifting from Patwa, an Afro-French creole, to English, the official language. Despite government efforts at Patwa revitalization and cultural heritage tourism, rural caregivers and teachers prohibit children from speaking Patwa in their presence. Drawing on detailed ethnographic fieldwork and analysis of video-recorded social interaction in naturalistic home, school, village and urban settings, the study explores this paradox and examines the role of children and their social worlds. It offers much-needed insights into the study of language socialization, language shift and Caribbean children's agency and social lives, contributing to the burgeoning interdisciplinary study of children's cultures. Further, it demonstrates the critical role played by children in the transmission and transformation of linguistic practices, which ultimately may determine the fate of a language.

Ophelia

The story world By the year 2120, the world has changed dramatically. Few plants or animals have survived climate change and the human population has dropped to 3 billion. For those living in the affluent northern region, life is made comfortable by an artificial intelligence called The Gaia Machine. But for those living in the southern region, life is tough. So tough, they must trade their young women as surrogates in exchange for fresh water. Ophelia's story Ophelia Alsop, a privileged woman from the United Kingdom, and long-time conscientious objector to the surrogacy trade, takes matters into her own hands by becoming pregnant with her husband.
