This special volume includes the papers presented at the 12th Asia-Pacific Conference on Engineering Plasticity and Its Applications (AEPA 2014) held in National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 1-5 September 2014. The 2014 conference features technical and keynote programs, the most current and relevant trends in academia, and industry, and a cultural excursion program. The topics cover engineering plasticity in various disciplines such as materials processing, damage and fracture analysis, impact dynamics, composite mechanics. Advances in plasticity on the nano, micro and macro scales and their industrial applications related to sustainable and re-manufacturing are also included.
1st Asia Pacific Symposium on Technology of Plasticity (APSTP 2017) Selected, peer reviewed papers from the First Asia Pacific Symposium on Technology of Plasticity (APSTP 2017), November 22-25, 2017, Taichung, Taiwan
This special collection of peer-reviewed papers focuses on mechanical approaches to the experimental study and modeling of the deformation processes and defect formation accompanying various technologies. Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS). A series of papers was devoted to the processes of metal-forming. Special attention was paid to the question of micro- and nano-structure adjustment during processes such as extrusion and microtube press-bending. Other papers covered models for damage accumulation and healing, as well as fracture prediction during metal forming.
In this collection, scientists and engineers from across industry, academia, and government present their latest improvements and innovations in all aspects of metal forming science and technology, with the intent of facilitating linkages and collaborations among these groups. Chapters cover the breadth of metal forming topics, from fundamental science to industrial application.
The miniaturization of industrial products is a global trend. Metal forming technology is not only suitable for mass production and excellent in productivity and cost reduction, but it is also a key processing method that is essential for products that utilize advantage of the mechanical and functional properties of metals. However, it is not easy to realize the processing even if the conventional metal forming technology is directly scaled down. This is because the characteristics of materials, processing methods, die and tools, etc., vary greatly with miniaturization. In metal micro forming technology, the size effect of major issues for micro forming have also been clarified academically....
This Special Issue and Book, 'Latest Hydroforming Technology of Metallic Tubes and Sheets', includes 16 papers, which cover the state of the art of forming technologies in the relevant topics in the field. The technologies and methodologies presented in these papers will be very helpful for scientists, engineers, and technicians in product development or forming technology innovation related to tube hydroforming processes.
Taken from a September 2002 international conference, 31 selected papers consider methods for predicting and avoiding the occurrence of defects in manufactured products. Major topics include microstructural evolutions during processing, induced properties in materials, damage modeling and fracture criteria, instability analysis, characterization of formability, predictive methods and numerical techniques, and the influence of defects on the integrity of structures. The volume covers metal alloys, ceramics, polymers, and composites and both conventional and new materials are discussed. Distributed in the U.S. by Stylus Publishing.
