Practical Studies in E-Government
Information and communication technology (ICT) is permeating all aspects of service management; in the public sector, ICT is improving the capacity of government agencies to provide a wide array of innovative services that benefit citizens. E-Government is emerging as a multidisciplinary field of research based initially on empirical insights from practice. Efforts to theoretically anchor the field have opened perspectives from multiple research domains, as demonstrated in Practical Studies in E-Government. In this volume, the editors and contributors consider the evolution of the e-government field from both practical and research perspectives. Featuring in-depth case studies of initiatives in eight countries, the book deals with such technology-oriented issues as interoperability, prototyping, data quality, and advanced interfaces, and management-oriented issues as e-procurement, e-identification, election results verification, and information privacy. The book features best practices, tools for measuring and improving performance, and analytical methods for researchers.
Enterprise Interoperability
In a fast changing world governed by innovative Enterprise Services and the Future Internet, the issue of Enterprise Interoperability is no longer limited to the interoperation of systems within a single company, but has become a much greater multi-view issue of interoperability throughout a Network of Enterprises. This book contains the proceedings of 13 workshops presented as short papers and discussions held at each workshop. The workshops were co-located with the I-ESA’12 Conference organized by the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain. Complementary to the conference program, the workshops aimed at exploiting new issues, challenges and solutions for Enterprise Interoperability. The scope of the workshops spanned a wide range of interoperability issues in Service Science and Innovation, Model Driven Interoperability, Service Oriented Architectures, Factories of the Future, Enterprise Networks and Management, SME Aspects and Standards.
Electronic Participation

The Practice of Enterprise Modeling
This volume constitutes the proceedings of the 6th IFIP WG 8.1 Conference on the Practice of Enterprise Modeling held in November 2013 in Riga, Latvia. The focus of the PoEM conference series is on advances in the practice of enterprise modeling through a forum for sharing knowledge and experiences between the academic community and practitioners from industry and the public sector. The 19 papers accepted were carefully reviewed and selected from 80 submissions. They reflect different topics of enterprise modeling including quality of models, change management and transformation, approaches and tools for agility and flexibility, enterprise modeling and business processes, enterprise modeling and information systems and enterprise modeling cases. Additionally, one of the two keynotes is also included in this volume.

The Practice of Enterprise Modeling
Enterprise modeling (EM) has gained substantial popularity both in the academic community and among practitioners. A variety of EM methods, approaches, and tools are developed and offered on the market. In practice they are used for various p- poses such as business strategy development, process restructuring, as well as business and IT architecture alignment and governance. PoEM 2008, the First IFIP WG 8. 1 Working Conference on The Practice of Ent- prise Modeling, took place in Stockholm, Sweden. It is the first conference aiming to establish a dedicated forum where the use of EM in practice is addressed by bringing together researchers, users, and practitioners. The goals of PoEM 2008 were to - velop a better understanding of the practice of EM, to contribute to improved EM practice, as well as to share knowledge and experiences. The theme of PoEM 2008 was EM in different application contexts, e. g. , software development, including agile development, as well as business development, gove- ance, and change.
Electronic Government and the Information Systems Perspective
