In a great number of families there are bound to be black sheep that are considered to have a somewhat shady background. The Abernathy clan is certainly no exception. This book covers the antics of two of them: Vladimir and Enrique Abernathy. One is an assassin employed by a special branch of Scotland Yard and the other is a jewel thief. The incentive behind both men is obviously money. They lust after women like all the clan and have a thirst for Stoli vodka. Vlad and Enrique team up with attractive women as partners and pursue their nefarious activities with the luck of the Irish.
David Dobson has combed through private papers, as well as extracted data from the contemporary journal, the "Scots Magazine," and the newspaper, the "Aberdeen Journal." Dobson's transcriptions identify many of the Scots who took part in the conflict and portray the Scottish vantage point on the war itself. In all, the index to this book of genealogical and historical importance refers to about 2,000 Scotsmen who either took part in the conflict or provided commentary about it.
This is a partial history and record of our children's ancestors, the Scot Robert Abernathy, sold to a Virginia tobacco planter in 1650. Our German Bollinger, Schell, Miller and Statler families crossed to Missouri the first day of 1800 from NC and PA. The Burns, Abernathys and Conrads followed after 1820. Moses Wright from William the Conqueror's Norman knights. Adam Loftus, Queen Elizabeth's Lord Chancellor to Ireland and first Provost of Trinity College. It is built around a timeline from the era of the Roman Empire, through Western Europe and England to the exploration and colonization of North America thru the civil war in MO and AR.
