Pensamiento Matemático es un texto de matemáticas que cubre temas usualmente incluidos en libros del área de precálculo, con la intención de consolidar el lenguaje matemático básico que requieren la mayoría de las profesiones y de servir como preparación para el cálculo. El título Pensamiento Matemático responde a la aceptación generalizada de que "el centro de atención de la educación matemática es el desarrollo del pensamiento matemático, entendiendo pensamiento como la unidad de procesos y contenidos ". Gender and Exemplarity in Medieval and Early Modern Spain
Gender and Exemplarity in Medieval and Early Modern Spain gathers a series of studies on the interplay between gender, sanctity and exemplarity in regard to literary production in the Iberian peninsula. The first section examines how women were con¬strued as saintly examples through narratives, mostly composed by male writers; the second focuses on the use made of exemplary life-accounts by women writers in order to fashion their own social identity and their role as authors. In the nineteenth century a new type of mystic emerged in Catholic Europe. While cases of stigmatisation had been reported since the thirteenth century, this era witnessed the development of the ‘stigmatic’: young women who attracted widespread interest thanks to the appearance of physical stigmata. To understand the popularity of these stigmatics we need to regard them as the ‘saints’ and religious ‘celebrities’ of their time. With their ‘miraculous’ bodies, they fit contemporary popular ideas (if not necessarily those of the Church) of what sanctity was. As knowledge about them spread via modern media and their fame became marketable, they developed into religious ‘celebrities’.
