Understanding New Perspectives of Spirituality
This volume was first published by Inter-Disciplinary Press in 2015. This book deals with the rapidly developing field of spirituality. Although having a singularity of focus, the chapters have been written by a cross-cultural and international set of researchers who discuss critical issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. Thus, while a broad range of critical aspects emerge, the chapters are threaded together by the concept of spirituality as a lone walk. While alone, the spiritual journey is also deeply connected to others. As a deeply human experience the chapters in this book therefore reflect the prismatic viewpoints that form the understandings and experiences of the spiritual walk. This book challenges the reader to start to understand the apparent ambiguity this appears to bring to researchers and practitioners. Rather than a roadblock to understanding, the multiple frames and facets this brings it is instead a rich field for the exploration of the human condition.

The papers gathered in the present collection investigate time and temporality from a number of interdisciplinary perspectives: literary or film studies, postcolonial theory, physics, philosophy, psychology, urban studies, history and gender studies. This wide spectrum of scholarly approaches encompasses chapters dealing with the convergences of time and the human psyche; time and the body; time and memory; time and trauma; time and change; time and cultural reproduction; time and language; time and the city; and time and identity. It transpires that the imaginary refigurations of time more often than not constitute resistance against the linearity of chronometric time, represented by institutions, capitalism, government and power, and attempts to colonize the human psyche. In attempting to assault this hegemony of linear time, literary, cinematographic and cultural practice enacts exploding temporalities to reflect the multifacetedness and multidirectionality of the human experience of time.
Giving Voice to Silence
This volume was first published by Inter-Disciplinary Press in 2016. Silence must be one of the words in the English language that has one of the most varied and bizarrely contradictory set of notions connected to it. This book explores the multiple dimensions, the binary opposites and contradictions, and gives voice to silence in all its monologic, dialogic and absent glory. The chapters are collated from authors around the world who came together at an Inter-Disciplinary Press conference in July 2015 to discuss and deliberate on the nature of silence. Each author provides his or her own particular perspective, resulting in a range of writing which addresses silence across religious, inter-personal, social and political, literary, spatial and artistic dimensions. The collection as a whole highlights and embraces some of the strange paradoxes of silence and asks an implicit question: how, through giving voice to silence, might we re-imagine what is present, visible and audible in our lives?

The Mungbean Genome
This book reports on the current global status of mungbean and its economic importance. Mungbean (Vigna radiata)—also called green gram—is an important food and cash crop in the rice-based farming systems of South and Southeast Asia, but is also grown in other parts of the world. Its short duration, low input requirement and high global demand make mungbean an ideal rotation crop for smallholder farmers. The book describes mungbean collections maintained by various organizations and their utilization, especially with regard to adapting mungbean to new environments. It provides an overview of the progress made in breeding for tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses; nutritional quality enhancement including genomics approaches; and outlines future challenges for mungbean cultivation. In addition, genomic approaches to evaluating the evolutionary relationship between Vigna species and addressing questions concerning domestication, adaptation and genotype–phenotype relationships are also discussed
