Trip by Thomas Brooks and William Stockton from Pomona to Stockton's ranch in Beatty in March 1886. Their route in Death Valley paralleled the later route of the borax teams. He described the places on the route and the mining activity. Brooks account was published in the Pomona Times-Courier, April 10 and 17, 1886.
