International Commercial Arbitration
This practical handbook of the principles & procedures of international commercial arbitration gains in usefulness & prestige each year. Emphasizing the features of American law that pervade international practice in this field, it is of inestimable value to practitioners both in & outside the United States. Introductory chapters on the international business environment & alternative dispute settlement methods apart from arbitration are followed by a general presentation of common themes in international commercial arbitration. The author then provides an introduction to the American system for the foreign reader. Further chapters cover the arbitration agreement & its enforcement, drafting considerations for the arbitral clause, a survey of arbitral institutions, judicial assistance for arbitration, aspects of arbitral proceedings, & the powers & functions of the arbitral tribunal. Matters relating to the award are also covered, & a final chapter deals with the particular situation of the State as a party to arbitration.
Contributions to Statistical Analysis
In this work, two new coefficients have been proposed: the Coefficient of Proportional Variance (Cpv) and the Coefficient of Content Validity (Ccv). The Coefficient of Proportional Variance proposes a solution to the problem of measuring and evaluating the relative variability of a given distribution, obviating the problems of subjective interpretation and value judgments. The mathematical relationship derived from the Cpv allows for a more precise and more scientific interpretation of relative variability of data. The Coefficient of Content Validity permits the calculation of the content validity for each item, as well as the total content validity, of any data collection instrument that has been subjected to the evaluation of several judges (Panel of Experts Technique). Until now, according to the psychometric and statistical literature, a quantitative estimator of the content validity of a measuring instrument had not been achieved.

Efficiency Analysis details the important econometric area of efficiency estimation, both past approaches as well as new methodology. Hierarchy in International Law: The Place of Human Rights
This book takes an inductive approach to the question of whether there is a hierarchy in international law, with human rights obligations trumping other duties. It assesses the extent to which such a hierarchy can be said to exist through an analysis of the case law of national courts. Each chapter of the book examines domestic case law on an issue where human rights obligations conflict with another international law requirement, to see whether national courts gave precedence to human rights.
