Buku ini memberikan contoh penerapan strategi kognitif khususnya dalam pemecahan masalah matematika melalui perangkat pembelajaran yang digunakan. Strategi kognitif atau pengaturan kegiatan kognitif merupakan suatu cara seseorang dalam menangani aktivitas kognitifnya sendiri, khususnya dalam belajar dan berpikir.
