The Calling of the Church in Times of Polarization
In many societies all over the world, an increasing polarization between contrasting groups can be observed. Polarization arises when a fear born of difference turns into ‘us-versus-them’ thinking and rules out any form of compromise. This volume addresses polarizations within societies as well as within churches, and asks the question: given these dynamics, what may be the calling of the church? The authors offer new approaches to polarizing debates on topics such as racism, social justice, sexuality and gender, euthanasia, and ecology and agriculture in various contexts. They engage in profound theological and ecclesiological reflection, in particular from the Reformed tradition. This book of conference proceedings contains papers presented at the Art and Design International Conference (AnDIC 2016). It examines the impact of Cyberology, also known as Internet Science, on the world of art and design. It looks at how the rapid growth of Cyberology and the creation of various applications and devices have influenced human relationships. The book discusses the impact of Cyberology on the behaviour, attitudes and perceptions of users, including the way they work and communicate. The fall of New Order Regime under President Suharto saw the emergence of Reformasi (Reformation) and the beginning of various institutional and governmental changes done in the pursuit of democracy in Indonesia. Constitutional justice is fundamental to the success of democratic transition in the country. One of the results democratic reform and constitutional changes after Reformasi in 1998 is the establishment of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia.
I-COFFEES 2019
The International Conference on Fundamental Rights (I-COFFEES) is an international conference organized by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Lampung, to be an international scientific forum for researchers, academics, and practitioners. The first I-COFFEES were held in 2018 at the Novotel Hotel, Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. In 2019, the Second I-COFFEES were held on 5-6 August at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Lampung, Indonesia. “Fundamental Rights” has been chosen for the main theme of the Second I-COFFEES with a focus field on Law and Development, Women and Children, Ethnic and Religion, Law and Public Policy, Local Government, Business Law and Disruption, Pengayoman Law, Village Development and Communal Rights, and International and Human Rights. The conference was attended by national and international delegates from university academics, researchers, and practitioners. In total, there are 71 papers presented, with only 28 papers published.
