Book and CD. The story of Badfinger is among the most tragic in the history of rock'n'roll. They were championed by the Beatles, yet their two principal songwriters committed suicide. An expose of the music business, Without You also serves as a tribute to the band's work. Who Was Who on TV

The information herein was accumulated of fifty some odd years. The collection process started when TV first came out and continued until today. The books are in alphabetical order and cover shows from the 1940s to 2010. The author has added a brief explanation of each show and then listed all the characters, who played the roles and for the most part, the year or years the actor or actress played that role. Also included are most of the people who created the shows, the producers, directors, and the writers of the shows. These books are a great source of trivia information and for most of the older folk will bring back some very fond memories. I know a lot of times we think back and say, "Who was the guy that played such and such a role?" Enjoy!

MANAGING MONEY CAN BE MURDER All Anderson Crown wanted to do was pick one good stock. Or maybe two or three. He could put them into clients' portfolios and sit back and let the investment advisory fees keep rolling in. Crown's clients had other ideas, though. An old client wanted access to trust funds while a new client needed an estate plan the heirs wouldn't know about. Then the beatings began. Not only did Crown have to convince the police that his client was not a killer, he had to keep the cops from looking in his own direction, too. HOMICIDE IS A CAPITAL IDEA

Constituent Moments

Since the American Revolution, there has been broad cultural consensus that “the people” are the only legitimate ground of public authority in the United States. For just as long, there has been disagreement over who the people are and how they should be represented or institutionally embodied. In Constituent Moments, Jason Frank explores this dilemma of authorization: the grounding of democratic legitimacy in an elusive notion of the people. Frank argues that the people are not a coherent or sanctioned collective. Instead, the people exist as an effect of successful claims to speak on their behalf; the power to speak in their name can be vindicated only retrospectively. The people, and ...

An examination of ethical challenges that technology presents to the allegedly sacrosanct idea of the human and a proposal for a new ethics of life rooted in the philosophy of alterity. Bioethical dilemmas—including those over genetic screening, compulsory vaccination, and abortion—have been the subject of ongoing debates in the media, among the public, and in professional and academic communities. But the paramount bioethical issue in an age of digital technology and new media, Joanna Zylinska argues, is the transformation of the very notion of life. In this provocative book, Zylinska examines many of the ethical challenges that technology poses to the allegedly sacrosanct idea of the h...
