Solid State Fermentation
This book reviews the wide range of products and applications of solid state fermentation as well as the development of this cultivation technology over the last years. In this book, readers will also learn about the challenges of solid state fermentation, including process management, reactor design, scale-up and the formation of process-specific products. Solid fermentation is a traditional cultivation technique of food technology and involves all cultivations of microorganisms on a solid substrate without free liquid phase. In the course of development of Biotechnology it was replaced by liquid cultivation mainly in the western countries. Over the past few years, solid-state fermentation is now becoming more important and has moved more back into focus. Especially, it is suitable for the cultivation of filamentous organisms, like ascomycetes and basidiomycetes, but also for various yeasts and bacteria. The products and applications of solid-state fermentation are as diverse as the microorganisms. They range from enzyme production to the production of antibiotics and pigments to the use in environmental technology and energy production.

The Art of Reception
This book deals with processes of reception in visual arts. Images (in the broadest sense) from different cultures and times are examined. The volume focuses on two key interpretations of reception. On the one hand, reception is understood as a concept of repetition and revision spanning different cultures and time periods. On the other hand, reception is also seen as the process of perceiving images. Both ways of understanding can be described by the metaphor of migration of images: in the first case, images migrate from one medium to another; in the second case, they migrate from the artefact into the human body. Die politisch und kulturell bewegte Zeit zwischen der Französischen Revolution und der Wiederherstellung der "guten alten Ordnung" 1848 bewegte zeitgenössische Literaten wie Büchner, Heine und Goethe. Ihre Werke wurden oft von Filmschaffenden aufgegriffen. Die Beiträge des Bandes von Filmhistorikern und -wissenschaftlern beleuchten den filmischen Umgang mit Werken von u. a. Eichendorff, Kleist und E. T. A. Hoffmann und stellen sie in einen zeitgenössischen soziokulturellen Kontext. Die europäische Dimension der Faszination mit dieser Epoche und ihren Literaten zeigen Beiträge zum polnischen und tschechischen Film. Ähnlich wie die Vorlagen reflektieren die entstandenen Werke die Zerrissenheit zwischen Kultur und Politik und spiegeln in doppelter Brechung die künstlerischen und literarischen Werke und Biografien einer politisch bewegten Zeit wider. Zum Thema des Sammelbands erschien im November 2017 bereits das cinefest-Katalogbuch "Zwischen Revolution und Restauration. Reflexionen des stereoskopischen Spielfilms
Der stereoskopische Unterhaltungsfilm, der sogenannte 3D-Film, ist integraler Bestandteil der Filmgeschichte. Luisa Feiersinger verfolgt in einer longue durée die sich wandelnden narrativen, technischen und diskursiven Anordnungen am Beispiel ausgewählter Unterhaltungsfilme. Dabei zeigt sie, dass gerade im populären Format diese Anordnungen immer wieder selbstreflexiv in die Narrationen verwoben werden. Filmwissenschaftliche Untersuchungsmethoden zur Beschreibung der nur in der Wahrnehmung existierenden stereoskopischen Bewegt- und Raumbilder dienen als exemplarischer Vorschlag zur Integration von Bewegtbildern in die Kunst- und Bildgeschichte.
