Styx and Stones could have been subtitled The Paper Chase, for it is a yellowing file of names and addresses that emerges as the main character in this suspense filled murder mystery. An illegal purchase of the precious gem, Alexandrite, in Russia, topples the first domino and sets in motion a series of events that eventually involves Mary Beth Perkins and her sister, Martha. It is inevitable the women will encounter interesting characters or deal with unusual situations when they embark on their vacation trips, but rarely have they been the target of assassins or suspects in a sordid international scandal. The novel, set against the splendor of Paris and the pageantry of London, takes the reader along on the trip of a lifetime.
