Women have been allowed to attend U.S. military academies since the mid-1970s. This Congressional report from 2003 outlines a well-known case of sexual misconduct that several female cadets experienced at the Air Force Academy. Sexual harassment and assault continue to be a significant threat to women who serve in the armed forces. According to a 2011 report in Newsweek, a woman is more likely to experience a sexual assault by a fellow soldier than to die in combat.
The heart of a young child is fertile ground for planting the seeds of truth. Even little ones are capable of understanding spiritual concepts, presented at an age-appropriate level. Anita Carpenter has a gift for engaging young children and stating biblical concepts in a way that children can understand. I Love Jesus, Yes I Do! is a great example of this. Your child will enjoy the delightful rhythm of rhyming text and will surely want to read it over and over again. The simply stated biblical truth will help your child begin to understand not only how much Jesus loves them, but also the natural response to such great love-loving him back! Enjoy!
