This book presents my views on various issues ranging from contemporary events to personal philosophy. This book is, in fact, a consolidation of my views concretized on my blogs over years and is divided into four sections: Satire, Reviews, Opinions and Philosophy. Flare
Opinions are like flare, which can turn either way: they can spread like wild fire or encapsulate themselves within the bounds of personal integrity, and thus illuminate. I started writing opinions in the late 2008 through my blogs. I admit at times I did go wild with unsubstantiated accusations and surmises, leading to risky speculations and irresponsible opinions. What is Philosophy? Is it the exclusive domain of those who dream in abstract? Or is it the manifestation of the struggle of those who practice in material? Annapurna Circuit Trek
“Annapurna Circuit Trek: Fairy Tale of Love with Nature” is a compilation of author's unforgettable memories of his unconsummated love affair with nature. You can call it a travelogue, but it’s more than that. A traveller visits a place and returns, but the author has not yet returned. Though his body has pulled his mind towards Delhi, but the memories well crystallized inside the mind are making it wander even now. The author has tried breaking this discordant by penning down his experiences of the trek and loading them on to the readers with a hope that they will carry forward the fairy tale in their love with nature. Claims on Privacy
The "Claims on Privacy" is an essay justifying the categorization of privacy as a generic natural right like the right to life and liberty. An inextricable link has been drawn between dignity and privacy in the essay through the life story of a fictional character XYZ as no contour can really be drawn to an abstract right in a system which can't be tailor-made. Various articles published by the author on his blog privacy.ankurmutreja.com have also been added as appendices. Theauthor is a lawyer and a privacy exponent. This essay is his sincere attempt to educate himself about privacy, which is a right less understood. He makes no claims to educate others. Even if the readers get entertained, the author would accept it gracefully as an accidental gain.
Anti-National Humanist
In this essay, the author is trying to answer the question: is there a political possibility of existence of a humanist as an anti-national humanist? Being a humanist, the author has high respect for human dignity, which he finds getting compromised in the nationalist violence. He wonders if it is possible for humanists like doctors to not become the externalities of nationalism labeling the blood in saffron, green, red, black, and white! He elaborates on the strategies of nationalists, the attributes of anti-national humanist existence, and the lessons from the past, to make out his case. Whether he has succeeded or not is for the readers to decide.
