Els textos d'aquest volum es plantegen a partir d'un triple marc espacial i analític -l'europeu, l'espanyol i el valencià-, amb la voluntat de presentar-los no com una mera juxtaposició sinó a partir d'una interrelació entre ells. L'aspecte identitati, doncs, cobra així una importància capital per a analitzar, en una perspectiva cronològica que abraça els segles XIX i XX, la gènesi del present polític i cultural a Europa, a Espanya i al País Valencià.
