This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 12th Conference of the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence, CAEPIA 2007, held in Salamanca, Spain, in November 2007, in conjunction with the 7th Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Technology Transfer, TTIA 2007. The 28 revised full papers presented were carefully selected during two rounds of reviewing and improvement from 134 submissions. The papers address all current issues of artificial intelligence ranging from methodological and foundational aspects to advanced applications in various fields.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 13th Conference of the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence, CAEPIA 2009, held in Seville, Spain, in November 2009, in conjunction with the Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Technology Transfer, TTIA 2009. The 31 revised full papers presented were carefully selected from 125 submissions. The papers address the following topics: machine learning, multiagents, natural language, planning, diagnosis, evolutive algorithms and neural networks, knowledge representation and engineering, tutoring systems, uncertainty bayesian networks, vision, and applications.
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed joint post-proceedings of the 10th Conference of the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence, CAEPIA 2003, and the 5th Conference on Technology Transfer, TTIA 2003, held in San Sebastián, Spain, in November 2003. The 66 revised full papers presented together with one invited paper were carefully selected during two rounds of reviewing and improvement from an initial total of 214 submissions. The papers span the entire spectrum of artificial intelligence and advanced applications in various fields.
In today’s global culture where the internet has established itself as a main tool of communication, the global system of economy and regulations, as well as data and decisions based on data analysis, have become essential for public actors and institutions. Governments need to be updated and use the latest technologies to understand what society’s demands are, and user behavioral data, which can be pulled by intelligent applications, can offer tremendous insights into this. The Handbook of Research on Artificial Intelligence in Government Practices and Processes identifies definitional perspectives of behavioral data science and what its use by governments means for automation, predicta...
Building accurate algorithms for the optimization of picking orders is a difficult task, especially when one considers the delays of real-world situations. In warehouse environments, diverse algorithms must be developed to enhance the global performance relating to combining customer orders into picking orders to reduce wait times. The Handbook of Research on Metaheuristics for Order Picking Optimization in Warehouses to Smart Cities is a pivotal reference source that addresses strategies for developing able algorithms in order to build better picking orders and the impact of these strategies on the picking systems in which diverse algorithms are implemented. While highlighting topics such ABC optimization, environmental intelligence, and order batching, this publication examines common picking aspects in warehouse environments ranging from manual order picking systems to automated retrieval systems. This book is intended for researchers, teachers, engineers, managers, and practitioners seeking research on algorithms to enhance the order picking performance.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Interactive Digital Storytelling, ICIDS 2012, San Sebastián, Spain, November 2012. The 14 revised full papers presented together with 6 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 48 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on theory and aesthetics; authoring tools and applications; evaluation and user experience reports; virtual characters and agents; new storytelling modes; workshops.
This book gathers the proceedings of the Multidisciplinary International Conference of Research Applied to Defense and Security (MICRADS), held at the Eloy Alfaro Military Academy (ESMIL) in Quito, Ecuador, on May 13–15,2020. It covers a broad range of topics in systems, communication, and defense; strategy and political–administrative vision in defense; and engineering and technologies applied to defense. Given its scope, it offers a valuable resource for practitioners, researchers, and students alike.
