HANNAH'S SEARCH
Hannah finds herself searching from an attic window for the man she planned to marry, but this time as a ghost. As the war escalates she can only watch as her family leaves the house and seek safe shelter away from the fighting along the river. Her new role as a ghost is often confusing as she moves between two different worlds; one she knows and misses terribly, and the other completely foreign to her. Hannah learns to direct her powers to see things happening away from the house as well as making herself known to the current owners and some surprised guests at Loyalist House Bed and Breakfast. Also this year at Loyalist House a winery is started. The trials of building and completing the bureaucratic red tape in order to operate have everyone in knots. Join Marilee and Jeannie as they, along with Hannah, search for Peter while keeping peace with the guests at Loyalist House.
Dreams in the Mist
Guests staying at a B&B often remark that this would be the perfect job. All it requires is some decorating skill to make the rooms look appealing, baking goodies, and interacting with the guests. Marilee soon discovers there is more to it than she thought, especially when her dreams start becoming reality. The noises in the attic, the letters falling from hidden spots all seem to relate to a war fought 200 years ago. Loyalist House may be more than just a lovely historic home. It may have secrets that relate to Marilee's dreams in the mist.

Clara must drive the horse and wagon as fast as possible to escape the fighting near their home. Having left her home in Ireland to find a better life and then losing her parents to cholera, Clara once again sees her life possibly changing for the worse. She still isn't sure whether it is better to remain a Loyalist or become a Patriot. Barbara Nattress enjoys writing about the struggles experienced by the people who came from other countries to settle Canada. Her ancestors came to Upper Canada in the late 1700's and fought to keep that part of the country Loyalist. This is her third book about Loyalists and this time includes the Patriot struggles of 1837. Dreams in The Mist and Hannah's Search retell the hardships of Loyalists during the War of 1812.
