Insights in Parkinson’s Disease and Aging-related Movement Disorders: 2022
Given the success of the previous edition of this Research Topic and the rapidly evolving subject area, we are pleased to announce the 2022 edition, which aims to give continuity on the subject and highlight state-of-the-art research. We are now entering the third decade of the 21st Century, and, especially in the last years, the achievements made by scientists have been exceptional, leading to major advancements in the fast-growing field of Parkinson’s Disease and Aging-related Movement Disorders. Frontiers has organized a series of Research Topics to highlight the latest advancements across the field of Aging Neuroscience, with articles from the Associate Members of our accomplished Editorial Boards. This editorial initiative of particular relevance, led by Dr. Robert Petersen, Specialty Chief Editor of the Parkinson’s Disease and Aging-related Movement Disorders section, is focused on new insights, novel developments, current challenges, latest discoveries, recent advances, and future perspectives in Parkinson’s Disease and Aging-related Movement Disorders.

Cities in the 21st Century
In recent years and decades, we observe the reality of a new urban world: the percentage of the world population living in urban areas has increased from around 30 in 1950 to around 54 in 2015, and is expected to reach 66 by 2050. However, in most cases the focus of research has been on the dynamics of the developed world. By contrast, our understanding of regional and urban dynamics in the developing world remains very limited. Developing countries will by 2030 host more than 85% of the world population, and more than 90% of the new urban residents of the world will live in cities in the developing world according to the United Nations. This special issue on "Cities in the 21st century: A view from the developing world" consists of an introductory editorial and four papers. They all study aspects of the reality of developing countries in the 21st century, always from a spatial perspective. Each paper focuses on a different topic, but they nicely complement each other. While three papers focus on Latin America and the fourth one on the reality of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, they all have broader implications for the developing world in general.

Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Inequality
This book hopes to stimulate discussion about how entrepreneurship and innovation contribute to growing inequalities in territories. This will help bridge the gap between research and practice on the role of territory dynamics and regional development. The book begins by examining the growing inequality in regions, which has resulted in lagging economic development. The need to shift current economic policy towards spatial inequality through harnessing the innovative capabilities of regions is examined. The book puts forth a case for reversing the inequality that is evident in lagging regions as a way to reinvigorate territories. The book should appeal to researchers, policy makers, business leaders and the general public interested in territorial dynamics and development.
