Lipstick, Lies, and Lady Luck

This collection brings us two short novels featuring Brian A. Hopkins' most memorable character, Martin Zolotow. Martin has a weakness for damsels in distress, a nose for sniffing out trouble, and the scars to prove that he can dish it out as well as take it. Suffering from a condition that hampers his short-term memory, he is a lone crusader in a cold, brutal world. Featuring trademark wry humor interspersed with white-knuckled action and adventure, Lipstick, Lies, and Lady Luck is sure to garner more fans of Brian Hopkins' evocative writing. Brian A. Hopkins lives in Oklahoma City.

The Journey: Reflections on Life, Illness, and Death

First diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2001 and later with Hep-C, award-winning author Brian A. Hopkins started writing about the experience immediately, sharing his story online in personal, often humorous, and frequently poignant episodes, many of which were penned by his miniature Schnauzer, Gator. This is the compilation of that 20+ year journey, a unique journal that ventures beyond one man's struggles with illness and the entity his dog labeled "The Great Recycler" to illustrate the bond between human and canine and the inevitable conclusion all such relationships must endure. It's the true story of two friends supporting each other "through chemo and interferon-induced depressio...

When Therapy Fails

I am an Australian Vietnam Veteran diagnosed with PTSD requiring medication changes at numerous times and it was during one of these changes that this poetry arose from my mind being set free with another digger over coffee while sitting in the back area of the Hollywood Clinic in Western Australia. I wish only to help other mental patients cope.

When Therapy Fails. My Trauma Will Never Cease

This poetry came from my mind being set free with another digger over coffee and smokes while sitting in the back area of the Hollywood Clinic in Western Australia. It seems as though I have a creative mind when it comes to writing and enabling the release of thoughts to ease my mind. I was a Tunnel rat in South Vietnam in 1967 and 68, with 3 Troop, 1 Field Sqn, Royal Australian Engineers, thus the use of the Tunnel Rats logo. I had tried my hand at writing about my time earlier in life but was not really successful and then I found that I could express myself better through poetry. I am happy to share my poems with others in the hope that I can help anyone who has a mental problem. Just one assist is all I need to succeed in my aim to bridge the gap between partners and friends.
