This report assesses the effectiveness of the infection prevention, surveillance and control systems in place throughout the province of British Columbia. The report consists of seven volumes. In addition to the Provincial overview, there are individual reports for each health authority. This document covers Fraser Health Authority. The Auditor General examines whether the Ministry of Health and the Provincial Health Services Authority provides a framework for infection prevention, surveillance and control; and whether each of the health authority has a workable plan in place for prevention, surveillance and control of infections; is demonstrating best practices for infection prevention, surveillance and control; has information system support in place for infection prevention, surveillance and control; and is reporting on the status of its infection prevention surveillance and control efforts and is making continuous improvements.
