The Works of Patrick Branwell Brontë
This volume, first published in 1997, contains all of Patrick Branwell Brontë’s known writings, excluding his letters, from 1827 to 1833. This title primarily focuses on the creation of the Glass Town Confederacy and on the emergence of Rouge/Alexander Percy/Ellrington as Branwell’s chief character. All of the texts in this edition are based on Neufeldt’s own transcriptions of the manuscripts, or, where the manuscript is unavailable, on the most reliable accessible text. This edition serves as a record for the growth and development of Branwell’s writing, and it is hoped that it will help to dispel some of the myths and misconceptions that have become associated with Branwell’s name. This book will be of interest to students of English Literature.

Venturing out of Yorkshire for the first time in their lives, the Bronte sisters Charlotte and Emily traveled to Brussels in 1842, and Charlotte returned for another visit in 1843. Under the tutelage of their brilliant teacher Constantin Heger, the young authors penned the twenty-eight essays (devoirs) collected for the first time in this volume. Sue Lonoff offers a mine of information on the Brontes and their Brussels experience, exploring why the months in Belgium meant so much to the sisters and how their writing exercises affected their developing prose styles.
The Bronte Sisters
Although the Brontës have long fascinated readers of fiction and biography, their poetry was all too little known until this pioneering selection by Stevie Davies, the novelist and critic. Charlotte (1816-1855) is certainly a competent poet, and Anne (1820-1849) developed a distinctive voice, while Emily (1818-1848) is one of the great women poets in English. Read together with their novels, the poems movingly elucidate the ideas around which the narratives revolve.
