However, the moths thus early brought together belonged to two distinct structural groups - families in the Latreillean sense. In 1807, Fabricius restricts the term Seem to members of the family under present consideration - the Sphingidae, and proposes the term Aegeria, for the group afterwards known, it seems to me properly, as Aegeriidae by the English Entomologists.
