Whatever your mood, you will find something within these pages to entice and enthral you. The science fiction narratives include adventures involving space travel, motherships, aliens and master races. Within these extra-terrestrial settings, human minds are pitted against superior intellects from other worlds and other galaxies. The supernatural stories are also other-worldly, but this time more contemplative, spiritual and mystical. The pace is slower, the atmosphere more eerie, more contemplative. The narratives are both thought-provoking and mysterious. They draw the reader into worlds slightly off-kilter, slightly less certain and definitely enigmatic. All the narratives are highly readable: some are adventurous, some enchanting, some cryptic, some inexplicable, but all are hugely thrilling and entertaining.

'Horror at the Vicarage, ' by David G Hulson, a member of Bugs2writes, comprises eighteen short stories based in and around the crumbling vicarage belonging to the Church of St George. Each of the stories is complete, yet by each sharing the same settings and characters all the narratives are closely linked and related. Jake narrates the supernatural events that occur whilst he and his family attempt to live ordinary lives as good citizens of the parish. However, things are never quite what they seem. Instead, behind a semblance of normality, Jake and his parents are frequently forced to confront demons, ghouls, ghosts and vampires. The devil's fiendish creatures spawn from the darkest of hell and rise to create and dispense evil wherever they go. Filled with confusion, terror, suspense and mystery, the atmosphere surrounding the antiquated vicarage and archaic graveyard evokes the very best of the horror genre. Thick swirling mists, crumbling tomb stones and dank, dark crypts all add to the drama.

In this book, you will find an eclectic mix of personal tales from motorbike gangs, through to line-dancing troupes, to a non-safari African adventure. Some stories relate incidents from childhood through to teenage years. Others narrate experiences of early adulthood through to marriage and children. One tale explores the supernatural. A huge department store along with some of the characters who walked the floors is another. An alternative account describes the many joys and heartaches involved with fostering children. A stint in the army along with school days and childhood holidays all add to the combination of stories within. Whatever your mood, there is sure to be something to entertain, amuse and charm you.
