CERÁMICA IMPORTADA EN ASTURIAS ENTRE LOS SIGLOS XIII Y XVIII. UN ANÁLISIS ARQUEOLÓGICO
Esta monografía es el resultado del análisis de 3.151 piezas cerámicas halladas en Asturias (España), procedentes en su práctica totalidad de contextos arqueológicos. Se trata de una selección de piezas arribadas a esta región entre los XIII y XVIII, provenientes de diversos rincones de la península ibérica, Europa, Asia y América. Se ha utilizado una metodología que incluyó la creación de una base de datos, un sistema de información geográfica y un catálogo razonado, utilizados para clasificar y analizar cada una de estas cerámicas. Discutiendo estos datos, ha sido posible reconocer 18 regiones de proveniencia que han permitido reconstruir la evolución del comercio y consumo de cerámica en Asturias desde la Baja Edad Media y durante toda la Edad Moderna. En consecuencia, este trabajo amplía el radio de difusión de un buen número de centros cerámicos europeos y plantea la llegada a Asturias de muchas producciones que hasta este momento se desconocían.

Gli orci di Montelupo e le terrecotte vascolari nell’area fiorentina: la produzione grezza e smaltata
Le indagini archeologiche, e in particolare le ricerche subacquee, hanno evidenziato sin dagli anni ’70 la presenza di contenitori fittili (orci), poi riconosciuti come prodotti a Montelupo, in un ambito territoriale globale. Oltre al commercio internazionale dell’olio d’oliva toscano, questa eccezionale diffusione dipende anche dall’uso che la Royal Navy fece degli orci montelupini quale dotazione di cambusa per i suoi navigli tra il XVII (seconda metà) ed il XVIII secolo. I contributi di Hugo Blake, Gaëlle Dieulefet e Nina Linda Jaspers sono dedicati alla diffusione di questi contenitori lungo le vie marittime, in Inghilterra, Francia, Olanda e Canada, sino all’Indonesia e all’Australia, mentre Fausto Berti colloca la fabbricazione degli orci nelle vicende produttive delle ceramiche grezze in Toscana e nell’area di Montelupo. L’insieme dei saggi contenuti in questo volume rappresenta, dunque, un esempio dell’apporto che l’archeologia può offrire alla ricostruzione di vicende storiche complesse.

Miguel Venegas and the Earliest Jesuit Theater
In Miguel Venegas and the Earliest Jesuit Theater, Margarida Miranda takes a fresh look at the origins of Jesuit theater and provides a detailed account of the life and work of Miguel Venegas (1529–after 1588) within the Iberian tradition. The book details Venegas’s role as the founder of Jesuit theater in Portugal and the creator of a new musical genre, choruses for tragedies, which was gradually codified and emulated by successive generations of Jesuits. Venegas’s Latin tragedies in turn provided the model for regular dramatic activities in the global network of Jesuit schools, including, significantly, the first tragedies to be staged in Rome: Saul Gelboeus and Achabus, both of which had originally been performed in Coimbra in the mid-sixteenth century.

Accessibilità, proprietà, disseminazione” (Roma, CNR, 23 maggio 2017), a cura di Marco Arizza, Valeria Boi, Alessandra Caravale, Augusto Palombini e Alessandra Piergrossi.
