The Arabian peninsula, particularly the wealthy emirates on the northeast coast, is one of the world's premier areas of construction growth. For several decades, building projects of ever-increasing scale have been realized, turning the region into a prime tourist destination for the wealthy and a magnet for foreign investment. This title presents over 50 of the newest construction projects in the Gulf region, all by German architects and including buildings still under construction. Laubenpieper gärtnern mitten in der Stadt Berlin. In keiner vergleichbaren Stadt gibt es diese kleinen Gärten mit dieser Mischung aus Weltstadt und Provinz. Wer sind diese Menschen, die wie besessen in der Erde wühlen oder alles naturbelassen wachsen lassen? Ich gehöre seit über 45 Jahren zu dieser Art Spezies und bewirtschafte in einer Kleingartenanlage einen Garten. Ich kenne die Gartenfreunde mit ihren Macken, ihren Träume und Wünschen. German Pop Music
The development of German pop music represents a fascinating cultural mirror to the history of post-war Germany, reflecting sociological changes and political developments. While film studies is an already established discipline, German pop music is currently emerging as a new and exciting field of academic study. This pioneering companion is the first volume to provide a comprehensive overview of the subject, charting the development of German pop music from the post-war period 'Schlager' to the present 'Diskursrock'. Written by acknowledged experts from Germany, the UK and the US, the various chapters provide overviews of pertinent genres as well as focusing on major bands such as CAN, Kraftwerk or Rammstein.
