Nalcor Energy (Nalcor) proposed to develop two hydroelectric generation facilities, including construction of associated dams and reservoirs, on the lower Churchill River in central Labrador. The generation facilities would have a combined capacity of 3,074 megawatts (MW) with one facility located at Gull Island (2,250 MW) and one at Muskrat Falls (824 MW). The Project also included transmission lines between Muskrat Falls and Gull Island and between Gull Island and the existing Churchill Falls facility.
