Nonparametric identification of nonlinear dynamic systems

A nonparametric identification method for highly nonlinear systems is presented that is able to reconstruct the underlying nonlinearities without a priori knowledge of the describing nonlinear functions. The approach is based on nonlinear Kalman Filter algorithms using the well-known state augmentation technique that turns the filter into a dual state and parameter estimator, of which an extension towards nonparametric identification is proposed in the present work.

The methods of time-efficient simulation of surface-excited wave propagation in plate-like multilayered composites are presented. The mathematical model of wave propagation in laminated plate based on the elasticity theory is transformed and then solved in wavenumber-frequency domain. The numerical methods for computation of inverse transform in time-space domain are developed and used for analysis of wave and energy propagation phenomena occurring in composite plates due to surface excitation.

On direct and inverse problems related to longitudinal impact of non-uniform elastic rods

The impact of two non-uniform elastic rods is considered and a recursive method was developed that solves the inverse problem: Find the location-dependent impedance function of the impacting rod that generates a prescribed impact force. The developed method delivers exact solutions in closed-form. Moreover, a condition is derived which states if a physically meaningful solution exists. Finally, the underlying 1D model has been validated experimentally.

Das Modell wurde für die erste Rissöffnungsmode bei ebenem Verzerrungszustand in Abhängigkeit der Mehrachsigkeit des Spannungszustandes (Triaxialität) entwickelt. Außerdemwird das Kohäsivzonenmodell bei einem eindimensionalen Kontinuumsrotor als FE Modell ausgeführt.

The objective of this work is to develop models for the analysis of consolidated transport processes. With the discrete time queuing models developed for inventory and vehicle consolidation, in particular milkrun systems, a detailed performance evaluation of different design scenarios can be conducted faster than with simulation. In this doctoral thesis, performance parameters of multi-server queueing systems are estimated under general stochastic assumptions. We present an exact calculation method for the discrete time distribution of the number of customers in the queueing system at the arrival moment of an arbitrary customer. The waiting time distribution and the sojourn time distribution are estimated exactly, as well. For the calculation of the inter departure time distribution, we present an approximation method.
