Foundations of Software Science and Computational Structures
ETAPS 2005 was the eighth instance of the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software. Formal Systems Specification
The RPC-memory specification problem was proposed by Broy and Lamport as a case study in the formal design of distributed and concurrent systems. As a realistic example typical for operating systems and hardware design, the RPC-memory problem was used as the basis for comparing various approaches to formal specification, refinement, and verification. Preliminary solutions were discussed during a workshop at Schloss Dagstuhl, Germany, in September 1994. Then an extensive discussion took place between the referees and authors. Finally 15 thoroughly revised papers were accepted for inclusion in this volume in full detail together with the problem statement and a synopsis.
Computer Aided Verification
The refereed proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Computer Aided Verification, CAV 2003, held in Boulder, CO, USA in July 2003. The 32 revised full papers and 9 tool papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 102 submissions. Tools and Algorithms for the Construction and Analysis of Systems
This book presents 12 revised refereed papers selected as the best from 32 submissions for the First International Workshop on Tools and Algorithms for the Construction and Analysis of Systems, TACAS '95, held in Aarhus, Denmark, in May 1995. The workshop brought together 46 researchers interested in the development and application of tools and algorithms for specification, verification, analysis, and construction of distributed systems. The papers included in the book are devoted to refinement-based and compositional verification, construction techniques, analysis and verification via theorem proving, process algebras, temporal and modal logics, techniques for real-time, hybrid and probabilistic systems, and value-passing systems.
