CEBRA files 01
CEBRA is a successful, young Danish architectural studio, representative of the new architectural generation in Denmark. CEBRA_files is a compilation of CEBRA's works, both built and unbuilt, from 2000-2006. CEBRA_files is organized according to how the studio works, and includes selected projects reproduced in photos and drawings. The projects are arranged by file numbers and important data, making it a reference-friendly book. The chronological (rather than thematic) structure is in keeping with CEBRA's philosophy of allowing each project to dictate its own ideas and themes.

Built Unbuilt revisits 16 years of Julien De Smedt’s work from the inception of the architectural practice PLOT with Bjarke Ingels in 2001 to the work of JDSA and the founding of the design studio Makers With Agendas with William Ravn in 2013. The Built section of this book gives an overview of De Smedt’s built work seen through the lens of photographer Julien Lanoo. The Unbuilt section is a selective narrative by De Smedt of projects that haven’t made it to the built world.

Those in Denmark who seek innovative architects will inevitably come up against the names of Mikkel Frost, Carsten Primdahl and Kolja Nielsen who in 2001 joined forces under the name of CEBRA in Aarhus. The trio are regarded as pioneers in Scandinavian architecture and have been running a branch office in Abu Dhabi since 2015 in order to implement a major cultural project within the historic centre of the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The team of forty-six employees as at present shares its intense passion for architecture over a total of 1,200 pages. The chronological journey through this catalogue of works is elaborately illustrated with a broad selection of drawings, diagrams and photographs.
