American born Charles Albert Nicol (1871-1959) was the brother of the more famous Nicola (William Nicol). Known as Von Arx, he had success with the Throne of Mystery illusion. He once performed with Blackstone (nee Bouton) in an act called, Bouton & Kelso with Blackstone playing the part of Dr. Kelso. Von Arx toured Asia and Africa, as well as performing at camp shows for the American troops during WWI and WWII. After spending many years as part of Nicola's show, he toured as Chasan with his own ghost show, a popular 1940s and 1950s midnight magic show. File contains biographical notes, press cuttings and photographs.
