The Routledge Companion to Marketing and Society

The Routledge Companion to Marketing and Society focuses on marketing for social impact as the use of marketing strategies, tools and techniques to improve the well-being of society. As such it does not exclude the use of marketing to increase profit and shareholder value but rather prioritises the social impact of marketing, both positive and negative (even if largely unintended). This companion is a scholarly reference providing an overview of marketing for social impact in terms of its current and emergent themes, debates and developments, as well as reflections on the future of the field. Personal Health: A Population Perspective

Personal Health: A Population Perspective will engage your students in understanding relevant personal health issues, set within a broader population health framework. Unlike other Personal Health texts, this book will combine information about individual health, including topics of great interest and relevance to college-aged students, as well as a discussion of the context of community and global health to which each individual is inextricably linked. Students will learn not only how personal choices affect their own health, but that of their family, community and the world around them. Designed for fulfilling health distribution requirements or an introductory class for public health majors, the authors address the principles outlined by the Association of Schools & Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) for undergraduate public health education, throughout the text.

It's Not What You Think

Your request for a reference for Christopher Evans. Whilst he has many strong points, of which I'm sure you are aware, there are a number of issues which prevent me from endorsing him unreservedly. Although there appears to have been a miraculous transformation recently, in the past he has suffered from the following problems: A tendency to skateboard down the corridor at work in his boxer shorts An insistence on using his own toaster in the office which repeatedly set off the fire alarm An insubordinate attitude to authority, tending to refer to his boss as 'the Fat Controller' An impeccable sense of timing which led to him telling a joke about oral sex and Brussels sprouts on the day I was due to defend him to the BBC Board of Governors An unreliable attendance record which culminated in him taking the day after the Christmas Party as a 'sickie' A tendency to flounce out if not given Fridays off Apart from these minor defects he is, of course, a brilliant broadcaster who has single handedly changed the face of British radio and an all round good egg. I'm very proud to have been associated with bits of his career. Book jacket.
