Walter Newman came to New Jersey in 1683-4 as an indentured servant from Ireland. After he completed his four year indenture he married Mary Newman. They had fourteen children. Among their descendants is John Newman and Polly Martin, who married on 30 May 1801. Descendants live in Texas, Alabama, Virginia, California, Washington, and elsewhere.

¿Qué es enseñar? Este interrogante ha tenido múltiples definiciones a lo largo de la historia. Hoy te propongo que reflexionemos sobre su significado a través de esta polifonía conceptual que nace de las voces de mis queridas/os compañeras/os docentes. Sus aportes han sido los nutrientes necesarios para enriquecer el término enseñar, en un contexto singular, una escuela única, particular y querida por cada uno de nosotros. Utilizo el vocablo polifonía atendiendo a su significado: 'muchos sonidos'. Está palabra me ofrece la idea de pluralidad, de variadas voces y muchos sonidos que se armonizan. El objetivo es plasmar tramas conceptuales, las cuales se derivan de los dichos, las opiniones, las concepciones y los argumentos que mis compañeros/as esbozan en su diario transitar como docentes.
