Giovan Pietro Bellori: The Lives of the Modern Painters, Sculptors and Architects
This is the first complete translation of the biographies of fifteen artists, including Annibale Carracci, Carvaggio, Rubens, Van Dyck, and Poussin, written by the seventeenth-century antiquarian Giovan Pietro Bellori. Originally conceived as a continuation of Vasari's famous Lives, it is a fundamental source for seventeenth-century Italian art and artistic theory, providing detailed descriptions of extant and lost works of art, while casting light on the cultural politics of contemporary Rome and the relations between Rome and France. The importance of Bellori's Lives lies in the scrupulous documentation of artists, many of whom he knew personally; the author's detailed descriptions of their works; and his exposition of the classicist theory of art in the introductory lecture, the Idea. This volume contains the twelve Lives published in the original edition of 1672 and three Lives (Guido Reni, Andrea Sacchi, and Carlo Maratti) that survive in manuscript form and that were published for the first time in 1942.

Macmillan published the first edition of this text in 1985. It is a detailed reference to world leaders, monarchs, presidents and their equivalents, executive leaders plus other positions with authority vested in them; heads of ruling communist parties, military junta heads and some leaders with no formal post, but who wield supreme authority. This text is a reference to leaders, past and present, of the countries of the world. The second edition updates the first and includes the far reaching political changes which have taken place in Eastern Europe and the emergence of new states. The scope of the book has been broadened to include more international organisations, more regional government leaders, more governments in exile and colonial governors of the twentieth century.
L'amministrazione nell'assetto costituzionale dei poteri pubblici
Il volume, dedicato al prof. Vincenzo Cerulli Irelli, trae spunto dal convegno tenutosi il 7 maggio 2019 nella Facoltà di Giurisprudenza della Sapienza in occasione della Giornata di studi a lui intitolata. La discussione che è intervenuta ha avuto ad oggetto le più varie tematiche del diritto pubblico, dal rapporto tra amministrazione e Costituzione alla europeizzazione del diritto amministrativo, alle situazioni giuridiche protette, al diritto privato nell’amministrazione, al diritto della proprietà e dell’impresa pubblica; ciò a testimonianza dell’ampio contributo che il prof. Cerulli Irelli ha dato alla scienza giuspubblicistica. La prima sezione dell’opera raccoglie gli scritti dei relatori del convegno, mentre la seconda è composta dai contributi degli autori che hanno aderito all’iniziativa.
