Este libro es el resultado de los artículos escritos por profesores y estudiantes que participaron en el seminario sobre Víctimas realizado en 2017 en el marco del doctorado en Derecho de la Universidad del Rosario. La primera parte del libro reflexiona sobre el concepto mismo de víctima desde diversos enfoques disciplinarios, y la segunda aborda las diferentes respuestas institucionales previstas desde el Estado y la sociedad para atender y responder a las reivindicaciones de aquellos que consideramos como víctimas. La problemática central que reflejan estos textos son las víctimas en el marco del conflicto armado colombiano. Sin embargo, con el fin de evidenciar la heterogeneidad que implica el universo de las víctimas se han incluido experiencias internacionales (Argentina) y otro tipo de víctimas (i.e. víctimas de trata de persona, víctimas de ataques con agentes químicos). La heterogeneidad que se busca resaltar en el libro, refleja los múltiples sufrimientos que es posible padecer y como la institucionalidad enfrenta el difícil reto de ofrecer respuestas y soluciones que atiendan la singularidad de dicho sufrimiento.
