Aanvankelijk deelden zij nog de medische campus, maar nadat in 1968 de hele universiteit werd gesplitst, verhuisden de Franstaligen naar Brussel. Intussen was de Nederlandstalige Faculteit Geneeskunde al aan een langdurig expansieproces begonnen. Van mensen en muizen belicht de ontwikkelingen die zich de voorbije halve eeuw onder tien decanen – van internist Jozuë Vandenbroucke tot neurochirurg Jan Goffin – aan die Nederlandstalige Faculteit Geneeskunde hebben afgespeeld.
