Urban Planning as a Trading Zone
'Trading zone' is a concept introduced by Peter Galison in his social scientific research on how scientists representing different sub-cultures and paradigms have been able to coordinate their interaction locally. In this book, Italian and Finnish planning researchers extend the use of the concept to different contexts of urban planning and management, where there is a need for new ideas and tools in managing the interaction of different stakeholders. The trading zone concept is approached as a tool in organizing local platforms and support systems for planning participation, knowledge production, decision making and local conflict management. In relation to the former theses of communicative planning theory that stress the ideals of consensus, mutual understanding and universal reason, the 'trading zone approach', outlined in this book, offers a different perspective. It focuses on the potentiality to coordinate locally the interaction of different stakeholders without requiring the deeper sharing of understandings, values and motives between them. Galison’s commentary comes in the form of the book’s final chapter.

Psycho-pedagogical research in a Double-degree programme
In this volume we have collected the contributions of many colleagues from the teaching board of Double Degree Joint Master’s Programme in Pedagogy and Educational Sciences and Training of Sapienza University of Rome and two prestigious universities of the Russian Federation: Moscow Federal University for Psychology and Pedagogy (MSUPE) and North-Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) at Stavropol. The present anthology is meant to review the positions and studies that individual teachers from the different universities involved presented in recent years, during online courses, in the lecturing, in the meetings and to discuss their possible opportunities. The volume puts forward this programme, to spread its structure, the theoretical assumptions and the various positions. Human mobility, health inequity and needs
This study, which brings together and consolidates the research work of the interdisciplinary EMHAM group, is focused on the relationship among human mobility, healthcare and fairness in public healthcare and treatment. The investigation of the information produced by the Emergency Departments of the Rome Metropolitan Area has proved to be strategic in identifying the healthcare needs of foreign populations. Many of the dynamics concerning migrants can be traced back to the inappropriateness of visits and accesses to the Emergency Departments. This information, together with the result of dynamic evaluations and assessments, is useful not only for healthcare issues, but also for the demographic, socio-political and economic characterisation of the phenomenon of human mobility.
The Wreckage of Philosophy
The work of Carlo Michelstaedter (1887-1910) was the first to analyze modernist philosophy in strict connection with social changes in mass society. Revealing how Michelstaedter was able to unveil the relations between pivotal early-modernist philosophies and social restructurings, The Wreckage of Philosophy examines the ongoing processes of "specialization," "rationalization," and "atomization." It points out how Michelstaedter connected the main theoretical expressions of modernism with the decisive social transformations of the early twentieth century, taking into consideration the key players of modernist philosophy, such as Friedrich Nietzsche, Henri Bergson, Ernst Mach, and William James.
