How will espionage activities of the Italians and now the Chinese disrupt this quiet community? How does an embezzlement play into the situation?
Familiar Bible Stories with a Twist
When you read stories in the Bible, what do you hear? Maybe you hear the children playing or fighting. Or possibly the dog is barking, and you can't hear yourself think. Maybe highway noises or a firetruck siren is heard. There are likely innumerable answers to this question. But when I read Bible stories, I hear people in the background of the story talking, laughing, shouting, and arguing. I see trees, rocks, animals, and houses. During 2018 I began studying the Bible, God's Word, in more depth than ever before. My studies in the Bible began in II Samuel and concluded in II Kings at that time. As I read many times, my mind wandered as I thought of the people, situations, countryside, cities/towns, etc. I wonder about their daily lives and what they did on a day-to-day basis. And, so, what follows is my collection of some historical fiction stories gleaned from my mind's eye. I trust that you will enjoy this escape into my imagination, and maybe this will inspire you to think more about the background of what's happening in the Bible events you read.
Grace and the Rebel Sigh
This book explores the lives of the twelve sons Jacob, the Old Testament patriarch. In the course of this exploration, our spiritual lives are examined and challenged as well. Many of us know some about the life of Joseph, possibly even a little about Judah or Levi. But what were the character traits of Issachar? Zebulun? This study will be benefi cial for individual study or for study and discussion in small groups. Each chapter begins with a historical fiction story where the reader is asked to identify the son, about to be studied, from traits shown in the fictional character.
Mona Klarke's Surprizes
Though he and his wife have divorced, the critical issues occurring in the small town of Cameron, Pennsylvania, have not ceased. Instead, as usual, they face new situations demanding time and timely decisions. The US military is concerned with Russia's hypersonic missile advantage; Mona is sent to Brussels, Belgium, to learn more about Russia's lead; the business at Omitron Laboratories is increasing and dramatically calling for thinking 'outside the box;' and an unusual truck with three characters, travels through Cameron. Boeing, Ford, American Airlines, and the US Military are planning to process orders to Omitron Lanbratories.
Pastor Klarke's Perplexities
Pastor Karl Klarke and the small fictional town of Cameron, Pennsylvania, are again tossed into turmoil. The forming of a state militia, the death of two Highpoint Junior College students, the theft of a farmer's bee hives, and the usual disorder around the Baptist preacher Klarke continue. The stress and challenge on the small Cameron police force demand expansion in personnel and facility; how will they cope?
