Georges Henri Schwenk, né en 1932, habite à Strasbourg depuis 1937. Il fréquenta l’école primaire de la Ziegelau à Neudorf puis, pendant l’Occupation allemande, la Niebelungen-Haupt-und-Mittelschule (école Ste Anne à Neudorf). Après la Seconde Guerre mondiale et quelques mois de remise en mémoire de la langue française à l’école de la Ziegelau, il a poursuivi ses études secondaires au Lycée Pasteur (l’ancien Collège moderne de Strasbourg) jusqu’au Baccalauréat.
