The Last Wolf

'So what is the novelist's duty then?' 'Oh, to tell the truth of course.' But what is the truth when there are at least two sides to every story? Brothers Maurice and Christopher have not spoken to each other for over 40 years, despite living on the same small island. And nobody talks about Maurice's first wife, Hester - until an apparently unconnected act of vengeance reverberates across the generations and carefully guarded secrets begin to unravel. Moving from 1930s Capri to Paris, London and the Isle of Glass off the Scottish coast, The Last Wolf is a subtly crafted tale of lies and betrayals. David Shaw Mackenzie says, "The Last Wolf explores how complicated relationships shape the world around us. It is a novel about how different people cope with change and come to terms with, or fail to come to terms with, the past."

Don't judge a name by its colors. MacKenzie Hamilton has the unique ability to see letters and numbers in colors. Her synesthesia seemed almost useless until she decided to start categorizing people based on their names' color combinations. For instance, her parents' names are pretty, so they're destined to reconcile. And David Shaw, the boy next door, has an ugly name, so of course, she had to push him away. For three years, she's lived with a false sense of security until senior year, when her color theory is put to the test in the worst way possible. David Shaw doesn't understand why MacKenzie ghosted him. One minute, they were BFFs, and the next, it was like he never existed. But with mo...

Five letters, 30 January 1796 - May 1812, written by itinerant London merchant David Shaw, originating from Great Britain (London and Manchester), from aboard ship in the Atlantic Ocean, and from Charleston (South Carolina), to his sister and brother-in-law, John Alexander, Esq., living in southwest Scotland "near New Galloway, N[orth] Britain." Topics discussed include a few brief references to his investments in shipping tea to England as well as enslaved Africans to North America, his plans to relocate to the Bahamas and South Carolina for a short period, becoming shipwrecked near Charleston, S.C., and an 1806 letter written en route to Sierra Leone to purchase enslaved Africans (shortly before the 1807 ban on the international slave trade went into effect).

Secrets in a Small Town

Town manager Savannah Castillo has everything under control, just the way she likes it. But when she starts to receive unsolicited gifts and messages from a stranger, her life turns to chaos. Against her better judgment, Savannah accepts Deputy Chief Mackenzie Blake’s help in the investigation and is more than a little annoyed when Mackenzie suggests herself as a part-time, live-in bodyguard. Savannah isn’t Mackenzie’s favorite person. She’s rude and entitled, and she always has to have the last word. Always. But when she and her daughter Eliana need help, protecting them becomes more than just a job. Mackenzie’s mission is to find the person harassing them before they cause real harm. Savannah’s fleeting and incredibly sexy smiles don’t make the task any easier, and there’s no time for distractions. Not when someone waits in the shadows, watching and preparing to strike.
