An Ellis Family of Devon and Newfoundland
Nicholas Ellis (ca. 1732-1797) of Woodbury, Devon, England married Anne Smith (d. 1780) in 1758. Their grandson Charles Ellis (1795-1880), who married Jane Mary Ashford (1802-1874) in 1824, immigrated to Newfoundland ca. 1846.
