Notes that toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is a rare but potentially fatal disease that, when related to menstruation, occurs most frequently in young women aged 15 to 24, usually in association with tampon use. Discusses the incidence of menstrually related TSS, ways to reduce the risk of TSS, and symptoms of the disease.
Thomas A. Alley (fl.1723-1749) and his wife, Frances, lived in Henrico County, Virginia, and had at least three sons--Thomas, James Sr. and Edmund. Descendants lived in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, Oklahoma and elsewhere.
